Privacy Policy

This page explains what data may be processed when you visit the getPage website, download the application, check for updates, or use the Pro license API.

Last updated 2026-04-08

1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the getPage desktop application and to the website and related services used to distribute, update, and license getPage.

It covers data processing related to downloading, installing, updating, activating, deactivating, and using getPage, as well as visiting the website associated with the application.

This policy does not govern third-party websites that you download with getPage. Those websites are controlled by their respective owners, and you are responsible for using the application lawfully and in compliance with the applicable rules.

2. Data controller

The controller of the personal data described in this policy is Nadmorskie Centrum Internetowe, the operator of the getPage website.

Questions related to privacy may be directed using the contact details published within the nci.pl service.

3. What data may be processed

  • Website visits, downloads, and version checks: IP address, date and time of the request, requested URL, HTTP status, referrer, and browser or operating system data sent in the User-Agent header or other standard HTTP headers.
  • Pro license API: activation code, installation identifier, application version, platform string, host name, activation token generated by the server, activation and deactivation timestamps, remaining activation counters, IP address, and technical history of license events.
  • External resources: when the public website loads external resources such as hosted fonts, the provider of those resources may receive your IP address and standard browser metadata under its own privacy rules.

4. Why data is processed

  • To provide the website and downloads and to return the current application version or license API responses requested by the user.
  • To operate and secure the Pro licensing workflow, keep the current activation state, prevent misuse, and resolve complaints or support issues.
  • To maintain reliability and security, diagnose failures, create backups, and defend against abuse or unauthorized access.
  • To meet legal obligations when retention or disclosure is required by applicable law.

5. Legal bases

  • Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, where processing is necessary to respond to your request, provide a download, perform a version check, or activate or deactivate a Pro license.
  • Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, namely the legitimate interest in administering the website, protecting the service, diagnosing incidents, preventing abuse, and defending or pursuing claims.
  • Article 6(1)(c) GDPR, where the law requires retention, accounting, or disclosure of selected information.

6. Recipients and transfers

Data may be disclosed, to the extent necessary, to hosting providers, infrastructure providers, backup providers, and entities supporting technical maintenance or security of the service.

If external providers are used to serve resources such as fonts, they may process technical connection data under their own policies. Depending on the provider, data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area.

7. Retention period

Technical logs are stored for the period necessary to ensure service continuity, security, diagnostics, and incident analysis.

License activation records are stored for as long as needed to operate the licensing system, preserve the current activation state, investigate abuse, handle complaints, and defend against claims.

8. Your rights

  • You may request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, or object to processing where the legal requirements are met.
  • You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Poland, this authority is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

9. Invoice (billing) data

When you choose to purchase a getPage Pro activation code, an invoice form is displayed before redirecting to the payment provider. The form may collect the company or person name, postal address, postal code, city, country, VAT/TAX ID, and contact e-mail address.

These data are processed solely for tax and accounting purposes — in particular for issuing an invoice or other accounting document required by applicable law and for related bookkeeping obligations. They are not used for marketing or any other purpose.

The legal basis for processing these data is Article 6(1)(c) GDPR (compliance with legal obligations regarding accounting and taxation) and, where applicable, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the contract concluded by purchasing the activation code). Providing the data is voluntary, but without them an invoice cannot be issued.

The invoice data are stored on the operator's server together with the payment record (Stripe session identifier and activation code) and are kept for the period required by tax and accounting regulations. After this period the data are deleted or anonymised.

10. Important note about the desktop application

The getPage desktop application downloads websites locally on your device. During ordinary crawling, the contents of third-party websites archived by you are not intentionally transmitted to the getPage server.

Communication with nci.pl is limited to normal website access, optional version checks, and, if you use the Pro edition, license API requests needed for activation, status checks, or deactivation.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if the website, licensing process, or applicable legal requirements change. The current version of the document is always published on this page.

getPage Lite can be used locally without registration. Only actions that contact the website or license API generate network traffic visible to the server.
